Services are focused on teaching basic parenting and home management skills. Family Consultants serve as parenting role models by demonstrating appropriate child rearing attitudes and behaviors. The role of the Family Consultant is to listen empathetically and validate the concerns and feelings of family members, then support and encourage progressively more independent and responsible behavior

PROGRAM GOALS
• Increase the number of families served in their own homes prior to the removal of children (if necessitated)
•Reduce the number of placements of children in substitute care
•Decrease the length of separation when substitute care is necessary
•Increase the number of families served after a child is returned home to reduce the recurrence of further abuse/neglect

Family Counseling
We provide counseling for families as a way to work through individual or group issues that may be negatively affecting family members or the entire family. Couneling can be provided as part of a service plan under another program or as requested by families in the community. If you are interested in counseling, please contact us.

Home Studies
We provide home studies as a service to families going through the adoption or foster care process and can also assist with other agencies when requested. If you are interested in a comprehensive home study, please contact us.

Assessments
Pathways offers assessment services on a contract basis or in emergency situations. If you need an assessment by experienced and licensed clinical staff, please contact us.
