• Financially self-sustaining
• Single, married, divorced or widowed
• Own or rent your own home
• Willing to attend training sessions with other prospective parents to learn about children’s needs and background
• Consent to a criminal history and child abuse/neglect background check
• Willingness to participate in a home study
• Provide permanent a home and life-long commitment to the child(ren)
• Meet the short-term and long-term needs of the child(ren) through adulthood
• Meet the child(ren)’s emotional, mental, physical, social, educational and cultural needs according to each child’s developmental age and growth
