Foster Family Requirements

Pathways is interested in individuals and couples of all make-ups, backgrounds and socio-economic statuses who can provide safe, nurturing environments for children.

The basic licensing requirements are as follows:

  • At least 21 Years of Age
  • Mature and Responsible
  • Financially Stable
  • Suitable Home with Sufficient Space
  • Ability to Learn and Work with a Team
  • Able to Commit to Ongoing Training

Additionally, we take great responsibility for children in our care and hold our families to these standards:

  • Provide daily Care and Nurturing of the Children in your Home
  • Advocate for the Children in their Schools and Community
  • Be a Positive Role Model to the Child’s Biological Family
  • Help the Children Learn Life Skills
  • Work with the Treatment Team Members Towards Reunifying Children with their Birth Families when Appropriate
